Key Highlights of the Scheme
Scholarship Amount: ₹8,000 per month for 10 months each academic year.
Total Slots: 10,000 scholarships distributed annually based on state-wise merit.
Subject Distribution: 50% reserved for Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, and Management; 50% reserved for Science, Engineering, Medical, Technical, Agriculture, and Forestry streams.
Disbursement Mode: Transferred directly via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the student's bank account.
Eligibility Criteria
Domicile: Must hold a valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) / Domicile Certificate from any North Eastern state (Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, or Tripura).
Academic Level: Admitted to the first year of a regular/full-time undergraduate degree program in a recognized university or college across India. (Distance, private, or open-schooling degrees are ineligible).
Class 12 Qualification: Completed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized school located within the NER.
Family Income: Combined annual parental income must not exceed ₹4.50 Lakh.
Course Coverage: Dual or integrated degree students are supported for the UG duration only.
Single Benefit Rule: Recipients cannot combine Ishan Uday with another government scholarship simultaneously.

How to Apply Online
Step 1: Visit the official National Scholarship Portal (scholarships.gov.in).
Step 2: Register via the One-Time Registration (OTR) system if applying for the first time, or log in with your existing credentials.

Step 4: Complete the application details accurately (personal info, income, academic record, and bank details).
Step 5: Submit the application online before October 31, 2026.
Step 6: Print the submitted form and present hard copies along with your supporting documents to your institution's Nodal Officer for verification before November 15, 2026
